Crello is now called VistaCreate. The online design editor is aimed at small businesses, marketing and content teams that need social posts, ads, presentations, flyers, or short videos built from templates and their own assets. The important boundary is operational: VistaCreate speeds up standard-format production, but it does not replace brand approval, asset-rights checks, claim review, or professional print preflight.
What VistaCreate is good for
The clearest fit is recurring visual communication with known formats: a campaign needs several social variants, a nonprofit updates announcements regularly, or a small business makes flyers and product graphics in-house. Templates, photos, videos, vectors, animation, and music can move a team from an idea to an editable draft quickly.
For bespoke illustration, complex layout systems, exacting print prepress, or extensive product and UI work, specialist software is usually a better fit. VistaCreate is an accessible production editor, not a replacement for every design role.
Components in the workflow
The editor combines templates or custom formats with text, images, video, shapes, music, and animation. Brand Kits store logos, colors, and fonts; Styles help apply that system to templates. The Social Media Scheduler supports planning for Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest according to the vendor. Depending on the plan, features include Background Remover, AI Object Remover, AI Image Generator, Sticker Maker, Smart Resize, and Version History.
Treat AI as a drafting and correction aid. AI Writer can write, rewrite, shorten, expand, change tone, and translate copy, but it is a Pro feature. Facts, product details, names, regulated claims, and final brand language still need editorial ownership.
A practical workflow
- Define the brief, audience, channel, format, approver, and rights for uploaded assets.
- Choose a template or custom format and use only approved logos, colors, and fonts.
- Add copy, images, and video; use AI Writer or image generation for variants and first drafts only.
- Check contrast, target-device readability, aspect ratio, safe areas, subtitles, and brand rules.
- Have a named person approve the final version. Then export, publish, or schedule it and retain the source design in the team’s chosen archive.
This routine prevents a polished template with an unchecked claim from going live. For recurring series, a short checklist per format is more useful than a blanket approval.
Collaboration, export, and operations
Pro can include a Team Account with up to ten members. The help center also states that team members do not edit the same project at the same time: the next person takes over after the previous person closes it. That supports sequential review, but it is not real-time collaborative design.
Pro also provides Version History, unlimited storage, and resizing for multiple formats. Before rollout, test whether the required export formats, HD download, print handoff, and archive process are sufficient. Auto-save is not a complete recovery plan: an unstable connection, multiple tabs with a logged-out session, or closing too quickly can still lose changes.
Quality and governance
Measure turnaround time to approval, correction rounds, format errors, brand deviations, and reuse—not the number of templates. A useful pilot uses one real asset with a brief, two variants, feedback, and a final export. Document who has access, which Brand Kits are authoritative, and where approved files are archived.
VistaCreate can simplify shared production, but the team remains responsible for copyright, personality rights, privacy, and advertising claims. VistaCreate’s licensing help allows its files in edited designs, but restricts, among other things, distributing individual stock files, selling unaltered copies, and using an asset as an official logo or trademark. This matters especially for client work and template downloads.
Security and privacy
VistaCreate uses a shared Vista account that can also cover VistaPrint and 99designs. Account roles, password practice, and handling of private uploads therefore belong in internal governance. For AI Writer, VistaCreate describes processing to provide the feature; that is not a blanket approval for confidential customer or personnel data. Minimize or anonymize sensitive material before uploading it.
Account deletion makes projects and uploaded content inaccessible. The provider says complete removal across Vista systems can take up to 30 days, subject to legal retention duties. Before cancellation or deletion, export approved designs, preserve ownership records, and secure source files.
Pricing and operating cost
The Starter plan is free and includes a limited selection of templates and assets, one Brand Kit, 10 GB of storage, basic editing, and social planning. Pro is billed monthly or yearly; the official pricing page displays USD prices, and the amount can vary by region and billing view. Pro expands the asset library, Brand Kits, AI features, storage, Version History, and team work.
The real budget also includes training, editorial review, rights clearance, export and archive handling, and the time spent on variants and approvals. VistaCreate’s help center describes a 14-day Pro trial that converts to a paid subscription unless canceled in time. Record the billing, cancellation, and refund conditions before starting a trial.
Editorial Assessment
We recommend VistaCreate to small marketing and content teams producing many standardized visual formats with limited design infrastructure and a defined approval routine. It creates value when templates, Brand Kits, export, and scheduling measurably reduce correction rounds. Choose a narrower alternative for simultaneous real-time editing, complex design systems, highly sensitive data, or professional print prepress.

FAQ
Is Crello still a separate product?
No. Crello was renamed VistaCreate. The current product site and help center use VistaCreate; the former name remains useful when explaining the transition or matching older references.
Can I use VistaCreate for free?
Yes. The Starter plan is free and includes basic editing, free templates and assets, one Brand Kit, and limited storage. Pro-only features such as the larger asset library, AI features, Resize, and unlimited storage are not included automatically.
Can a team edit one project at the same time?
Not as a shared real-time canvas. VistaCreate says team members can work on the same project sequentially. Agree on a handoff and approval point when using it for review.
May I redistribute VistaCreate assets unchanged?
No. The licensing help restricts distributing individual files and unaltered copies. Use assets inside an edited design with added value, and check client, logo, and trademark use separately.
What should we check before a Pro trial?
Test the required formats, Brand Kits, roles, team handoff, export quality, asset licenses, and source-file archive. Also record the end of the 14-day trial and its automatic renewal so the subscription does not continue unintentionally.
